Market and public opinion reserchers use advanced technologies of data collection (CATI, CAPI, Internet). Though traditional technology of data collection with the help of printed questionnaire (Pen&Paper, PAPI) is still used, and in some cases it is irreplaceable. For example it is useful with audience research, when dozens or even several hundreds of people are filling in questionnaire simultaneously.

 

P&PAlso in those projects, when respondents fill in the questionnaire by themselves P&P technique is often the only solution. Also necessity of making a lot of face-to-face interviews in the chosen region (like in one city) usually demands P&P technique application, because even those companies who have developed CAPI net, due to logistics they are not able to provide as many laptops as needed with as many trained interviewers.
